[Review] Rick Riordan - The Mark of Athena (Heroes of Olympus #3)

Title : The Mark Of Athena (Heroes Of Olympus #3)
Author : Rick Riordan
ISBN : 1423140605
Genre : Fantasy, Young Adult, Adventure, Romance
Rating : 5/5 stars

Annabeth is terrified. Just when she's about to be reunited with Percy—after six months of being apart, thanks to Hera—it looks like Camp Jupiter is preparing for war. As Annabeth and her friends Jason, Piper, and Leo fly in on the Argo II, she can’t blame the Roman demigods for thinking the ship is a Greek weapon. With its steaming bronze dragon masthead, Leo's fantastical creation doesn't appear friendly. Annabeth hopes that the sight of their praetor Jason on deck will reassure the Romans that the visitors from Camp Half-Blood are coming in peace.

And that's only one of her worries. In her pocket Annabeth carries a gift from her mother that came with an unnerving demand: Follow the Mark of Athena. Avenge me. Annabeth already feels weighed down by the prophecy that will send seven demigods on a quest to find—and close—the Doors of Death. What more does Athena want from her?

Annabeth's biggest fear, though, is that Percy might have changed. What if he's now attached to Roman ways? Does he still need his old friends? As the daughter of the goddess of war and wisdom, Annabeth knows she was born to be a leader, but never again does she want to be without Seaweed Brain by her side.

Narrated by four different demigods, The Mark of Athena is an unforgettable journey across land and sea to Rome, where important discoveries, surprising sacrifices, and unspeakable horrors await. Climb aboard the Argo II, if you dare....

To be honest, I started this book first before I read the first book. I know that's cheating but I heard news from the other readers that Percy and Annabeth weren't together in the first and the second book, and that's suck! I'm a big fan shipper of them and I really hated when my OTP is not together. Don't blame me on this, it is on my blood.

And yes, after I read this book I am so regretful of that. I didn't the whole story, I didn't know why Percy lost his memories and the rest of it, that's why after I'm done with reviewing what I've read so far, I started to read the Lost Hero and Son of Neptune.

My favorite parts in this book are on chapter 51, Annabeth Point Of View. If you've read this, I believe you know when Annabeth looking for the Athena Parthenon and met with Arachne and then some battle happen at the same time Percy and his friends showed up? Yep, that is one of my favorite parts.

While the other favorite is when Annabeth and Percy fell into Tartarus, well it was before they fell. I really loved when Percy said that Annabeth couldn't getting away from him and Annabeth replied that as long as they're together, they'd be fine. Oh My Gosh! It was like the best scene on the book. I really can't get over it and read them over and over again.

Eventhough Annabeth couldn't get the Parthenon home by herself, at least she did it. She succeed to find the Parthenon while the other Athena's Daughters/Sons were failed. She was the first one who succeed to find the Parthenon.

Like in every adventure stories, the main roles weren't supposed to be lost. That is why the stories isn't ending here.
